|
Hi there,
I'm only new to this site. I was just wondering if I could get some advice, I bought a ALADIN PRIME dive computer and I am finding the manual a pain in the arse. They just don't make it accessible at all.
Then I find out the reason is that the instructions are for two different dive computers the PRIME and TEC.
Can anybody give me some advice?
Oh and can anybody tell me where I can get the software thats compatible with a MAC.
Cheers

Hi Steve,
Sadly I cannot help you on your Aldain Prime but I am guessing you are the same Steve I dived with last Thursday with the stack of new equipment. Welcome to the site.
Aaron
P.S. Am sure that someone on here will know, Perhaps Chris might, am fairly sure he reads every post and has almost every possible piece of kit.
Have you tried their own website?

Steve,
Just looked up the Aladin Prime, looks very nice.
I see it has settings for partial pressure settings, oxygen saturation etc, if this is what is confusing then don't panic that is just info about diving that PADI don't cover on the open water course.
If it has factory settings then these will prob be good.
try this link for the mac download

Hi ScubaSteve
I had an aladin prime a couple of years back descent dive computer if I remember the only prob i found with it was after a dive getting it out of dive mode!
MAke sure to rinse and dry the contacts or it could b in dive mode for a few days if not weeks, running down the battery.
I cant remember offhand - but I think scubapro had a flash video of it in dive mode with a simulated diver going deeper and shallower explaining what all the readins meant - have a look for this as it makes it very easy

Hi Scubasteve and welcome to the site.
As Pokey says, I am a total nerd and DO read every post ( though I'm glad to say this is getting harder as ther is more and more traffic on the site.
Afraid i have no first hand knowledge on the Aladin but this site may give you some insights.

Either way, best of luck

As far as i know the same instructions are sent out with the Prime and Tec computers as most of the functions and features are common.
So some of the features like gas switching will not apply to you.
Saying that the function set-up takes a bit of getting used to on alladin computers
