Hey

I am thinking of getting myself a wing for this season I have a few questions if someone could help me!
At the moment I have around 80 dives 70% in Irish waters, I eventually want to go down the tech route but I want to get another season or two before I jump into twins, However I would like to move to a wing system, Naturally i will need a Single tank wing system that I can buy a new wing and back plate to convert to a twinset wing when the time comes.
Unfortunately I know very little about purchasing wings, black plates, and a harness!
If somebody can give me a idea on good places for information on such items and if you have any advice on purchasing such items best configurations ect i would really appreciate it
Thanks in advance

Hi
It all depends really on your future plans allright

If it is simple twin 7's - although they wont cover you for a tec route a descent single bladder would suffice - i used to love the x tec from scubapro - this is no longer available

If it is twins then I would suggest getting a wing system with single tank adapter - if doing this you have to watch the bladder as some will not work with a single tank
I have used OMS and Custom Divers ok - with one,

I have a few that I could let you have a look at some time if u are in dublin
I hope this helps

Tom

Hey tom

Thanks for your reply!
My plan eventually would be to get into twin 10's or 12's so no doubt no matter what system i go for I will need to change out the wing but keep the harness and back plate.
I used to do some diving with a guy who swore by halcyon and to be honest drilled halcyon into our heads ha ha
I was looking at halycon stuff last night and had a look at this kit
www.dirdirect.com/Halc...m-ABC.html it seems like when the time comes I will just have to swap out the wing for an evolve or similar and i will be able to dive with twins.
I am open to advise on the above as I really have limited knowledge on wings.
I am also based in Dublin and would be very interested to see some different setups

Halcyon is nice stuff - most use it for DIR type diving with a hogatarian type harness - this harness would not be suitable for them though as it has too many add on bits etc..

To be honest I find the stuff too expensive for what you are doing
Send me a email to tom @ mydivelocker.ie and i will go through some bits with you

Best regards

Tom Brett
